I didn’t get around to doing a middle of the week post because I got a bit behind the schedule I had set for myself, so I thought I would add a bit extra to my Snapshot Sunday post. I spent a relaxing Sunday afternoon reading and enjoying some treats that people in the house had cooked up and then went on an adventure this evening. One of the girls needed to go to the tailor and pick up the scrubs that she had had made. Since I had brought fabric along to have some of my own scrubs made, I decided to go along. Several other girls accompanied us with similar intent. I packed up my favourite set of scrubs and the fabric I had brought and we set off in the dark (it gets dark around 5:30-6:00) to find the tailor. First we took a taxi part of the way there, then we transferred to a tricey cab (motorcycle cab) which wound through the darkened neighbourhood streets until we came to the right area of the city. Lucky that the girl who was picking up her scrubs had been there before because we skirted down a narrow ally to the tailor’s workspace, which was on the upper floor of a wood and tin building. We climbed the narrow stairs to her space where I handed over the set of scrubs that I wanted copied and my stack of fabric. I am excited to see how they turn out! After we left the tailor, we were off to the grocery store to pick up some ingredients for a late evening meal of soup. It was wonderful to get home and spend the evening cooking with a bunch of us piled into the kitchen. Under the guidence of one of our housemates we produced a very yummy supper of green chili chicken soup and tortillas. What a great end to a relaxing day to listen to the chatter and laughter around the table.
