Maybe you’re surprised to be reading this, maybe you have heard rumours, or even heard it from my own lips. I am planning on returning overseas to serve women and families as a midwife. It’s been nearly 2 years since I returned, exhausted, but determined to move forward with plans to practice midwifery in Canada. For me, it’s easy to see exactly why I was so determined to remain here. I love home. It’s beautiful, there are 4 distinct seasons, there are no ants in my kitchen, and most of all my family is nearby. In short, it’s comfortable. Over the past two years I have been constantly challenged to set aside my expectations for my future and comfort and instead submit to the life that God desires for me. With plans coming together for a departure date in late February/early March, I am beginning to prepare in more practical ways. If you would like to hear a some of my plans and needs both in the short-term and the long-term, I will be sharing in church Sunday, November 20 at home in Gem. I would love to see you there!
