In a place where many, many, women are seen for care everyday, it is always a pleasure to encounter one of them multiple times over the course of their care. Every other Thursday, I help out with a prenatal outreach in a neighbourhood close to the water. Instead of the women coming all the way to the clinic for care, we can see them in their own community. It is unique in that the number of women coming are a much smaller number than we see at the clinic, and we often see them many times before they give birth. I was happy on Friday to arrive at the clinic and find one of the outreach patients listed on the labour board. She had been very faithful to attend her previous appointments and I had met her several times. She gave birth to a tiny, cute little boy, and I was excited to be there with her and her husband as they welcomed their new little boy.
